Visiting Japan has always been a dream of mine, and getting to experience it while visiting my sister — who’s doing ministry work there — made it even more special. We spent most of our time in Tokyo, exploring its colorful neighborhoods, peaceful temples, and lively streets. Every corner felt like a new adventure.
One of my favorite parts of the trip (besides seeing my sister!) was, of course, the food. I’ve always loved matcha, but having fresh, authentic Japanese matcha was next-level amazing. From creamy matcha lattes to the sweetest desserts, every bite was a little moment of joy. And don’t even get me started on the sushi and ramen — everything was so full of flavor and care.
Beyond the places and the food, what stayed with me most was the kindness of the people. Everywhere we went, we were met with warmth, helpfulness, and such genuine hospitality.
This trip wasn’t just about seeing Japan — it was about feeling connected, both to a new culture and to my sister’s beautiful life there. I know this is only the beginning of my love story with Japan — and with its matcha, too. 💚
